There are instances where some teeth are not visible as they have not grown past your gum line. A surgical extraction is what is known as the removal of this tooth and potentially some of the gum tissue and bone.
This type of procedure is common with wisdom tooth extraction, which is an issue for many people at an earlier stage in life.
