We may need to bridge a gap in your mouth, if for example we are replacing a missing tooth. This bridge must be bonded onto the existing teeth on each side of the existing gap.
Most commonly this would be two crowns, which can be made up of metal or porcelain, these will be attached to your teeth on both sides of the space. The false tooth would remain in the middle of this ‘bridge’.
The term used to describe the most popular type of bridge is called a traditional bridge, this is used when you have existing teeth on either side of the space formed by the missing tooth.
There are plenty of advantages of using them, and there are a variety of replacement options.
